For New Yorkers, the fall season is one of the most beautiful times of year. Taking leisurely walks with your pup and watching the leaves fall, smelling the crispness in the air and seeing wildlife prepare for winter is heaven for many residents. Well, now you can enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors while helping dogs and cats in need.
The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is holding its 22nd annual “Stroll to the Sea” dog walk on Oct 10 from 9 am to noon.
The two-mile walk will begin at Mulford Farm, a building owned by the Easy Hampton Historical Society, make its way to the main East Hamptons beach and end back at the historic farmrstead.
After enjoying the relaxing stroll, ARF will have a number of activities you can enjoy with your dog. There will be contests for dog/owner lookalikes, the pooch who can smooch and stupid pet tricks. First prize in each category will receive a crystal dog from the pricey company Baccarat. Other activities include a dog agility course, a silent and Chinese auction and singer Sandy Rapp strumming her guitar and belting out audience favorites.

For those that are looking to go above and beyond, they can set up a page to raise additional funds for ARF. (You need to get started pronto.) The top fundraisers will be awarded some pretty nice prizes including five night of fine dining at various local restaurants, a summer food share for the 2016 season of Amber Waves Farm’s CSA and a pet page on the 2017 ARF pet calendar.
Anyone that raises more than $250 will receive a gift from Isaac Mizrahi New York. Individuals that contribute more than $250 will be invited to attend the kick-off cocktail party on Oct. 9 at the waterfront home of Patrick Campion and Richard Ziegelasch Sounds very fancy.
