Meals on Wheels, the nonprofit organization that has the last 60 years been delivering nutritious meals to seniors, has recently added pet food in their delivery. This change comes after it was discovered that many of the seniors couldn’t afford to buy food for their pet, resulting in them sharing their meals with their canine sidekick. For some it got so bad, that they would have to give up their dog. And this created an issue in local communities, as abandoned dogs would end up in shelters.

So Meals on Wheels stepped in and now offers this service in selected community programs.
