The owner of a dog-walking service who was caught on video kicking a beagle in an elevator has been charged with animal cruelty.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jonathon Stenholt was arrested after he was identified as the man seen stomping on a beagle puppy’s paw, kicking the defenseless dog in the stomach as he cowers in the corner in the elevator of an apartment building located in Chicago.
After the building’s security witnessed the abuse on the video footage, they contacted the police department. Cops told staff to have the owner follow up with them.

Stenholt owned a company called Alone at Home Pet Care and had other clients in the building. Immediately after the incident the management company told Stenholt he would not be allowed in the building. But that was just the beginning.
Because of the huge outrage, Stenholt has commented on his actions, telling CBS Chicago, “I am a despicable individual who did a horrible thing to a defenseless animal. I deserve all that I am now receiving. I am ashamed of my actions.” Steholt has closed the doors of his business.
Stenholt’s first court date is July 1.
